| Rose Bay Secondary College provides high quality educational opportunities in a stimulating and secure environment. In this environment, the welfare of our students is the most important goal. We aim to educate the mind and cultivate the spirit always striving to enhance self-image through academic, physical, emotional and social growth. The warmth and vitality that permeates the campus is a great asset in providing the students support and a sense of optimism. Students are encouraged to achieve their potential and develop their own skills whilst working in a cooperative manner. The staff, both teaching and support, do their best to provide special programs and extracurricular activities which help students to learn in a supportive environment. The role of the Support Teacher Learning Assistance (STLA) is to increase access to the curriculum and participation for students experiencing difficulties in learning within the regular class program. The STLA works collaboratively with the schools learning support team to plan, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate programs through team teaching, professional support and advice to teachers, support for peer tutoring and other learning assistance programs, withdrawal of students for assessment or short term intensive instruction. The STLA on the campus facilitates the learning of the students by taking into consideration multiple intelligences and learning styles. As a result of this kind of positive intervention, all students' needs are catered for in the most effective manner. TOP |
